It's Been A While...

I get bored easily.  I try new things out, enjoy whatever that experience happens to be, and move on to the next adventure.  Not sure if it is an attention span deficiency or just that I'm curious to see how things work more than having a desire to master any one thing...  Anyway, I got bored with this blog so I took a few months off.  Let's see if I stick with it this time or disasppear again!  ;-)

I went to NYC with the best boyfriend ever last weekend.  He had never been to Manhattan so I wanted him to experience these things:
  • Visiting Rockefeller Centre at night and walking up Fifth Avenue
  • Hailing a cab and taking the subway
  • Walking around Little Italy and noshing on some gelato and pastries at Ferrara's
  • Exploring Chinatown; checking out a Chinese supermarket; eating really yummy salt baked shrimps and chicken fried rice at Great NY Noodletown, thanks to my awesome friend's recommendation
  • Strolling north to our hotel through various neighborhoods (Lower East Side, East Village, Flatiron, Garment District, and Murray Hill) and taking the time to stop and stare at the Empire State and Flatiron Buildings
  • Enjoying the fabulous New York Public Library ahead of its renovation this summer
  • Eating dinner at Shake Shack on the UES (is there NOT a time when this place is packed?!) ~ I love their Black & White shakes but CookOut's shakes are yummier
  • Wandering around The Met on a Sunday
  • Ordering in pastrami sandwiches, pickles, and chicken noodle soup from Katz's Deli.  Yummy and expensive ~ but worth every dollar!
I also visited 230 Fifth's rooftop bar on a chilly night to hang out with a buddy and her boyfriend.  I had the best drink ever, thanks to my friend: hot apple cider spiked with vodka. It was freezing out with a brisk wind so that beverage helped me from freezing into a block of ice.  The red Snuggies the bar provided and the heat lamps helped too.

There was a lot more to do but there's never any time to fit it all in.  Maybe next time!  :-)
